New at Rio Glow

XERF (you say it “zerf”) is a non-invasive radiofrequency treatment for skin tightening, made by Cynosure Lutronic. It is now at Rio Glow Aesthetics & Wellness, and Tathiana Braga Green, RN, is booking consultations for it.

How XERF works

There are no needles. The handpiece delivers monopolar radiofrequency energy through the surface of the skin at two frequencies, 6.78 MHz and 2 MHz, with three depth settings, so the energy can be placed at more than one depth in the same session. Cooling is built into the handpiece.

Cynosure Lutronic announced U.S. FDA clearance for XERF in August 2025. Devices like this are FDA-cleared, which is a different process from a drug's FDA approval.

XERF or Scarlet RF?

Both use radiofrequency. Scarlet RF microneedling carries the energy into the skin through fine needles, which suits texture, pores and acne scarring. XERF works from the surface without needles, for skin that is starting to loosen. Which one fits you, or whether you would do better with something else entirely, is what your consultation is for.

XERF with a membership

Two Rio Glow Society plans take $100 off a full-price XERF treatment: The Collagen Collective ($299 a month, banked toward NouvaDerm, Scarlet RF, XERF and SkinPen) and the Laser Club program ($549 a month). Your banked credit spends on XERF like cash.

Your consultation

New clients start with a free 45-minute consultation. Tathiana looks at the areas you want to treat, explains how many sessions she would plan and what you are likely to feel during and after, and tells you plainly if XERF is not the right choice. Results vary from person to person.

I have been coming to Tathiana consistently since April 2025 and highly recommend her. She is an RN and extremely knowledgeable about facial anatomy and muscles, which is very important to me when it comes to injectables.
